I don't mean to tease anyone, but look at these pictures!!!
...and none of it is meat. I just got put on to this thing called Quorn (pronounced corn). Apparently it actually tastes just like chicken and has been around since 1985.
Ingredients: * 4 baking potatoes, cut into 8 pieces, leave skin on * 2 Tbsp olive oil * Green onions * Fresh tarragon * Fresh rosemary * To taste, garlic powder and onion powder
Directions: Preheat oven to 375. In a large bowl, coat potatoes with olive oil and seasonings. Place on a lightly oiled baking sheet. Cook for 20-30 minutes or until potatoes are done.
Strawberry “Yogurt”
Ingredients: * 1 package firm silken tofu * _ cup natural cane sugar * _ cup canola oil * 1 tsp vanilla * 1 Tbsp lemon juice * 1 _ cup strawberries
Directions: In a food processor blend tofu and sugar until smooth. Add remainder of ingredients until well combined, smooth and creamy. Chill and serve.
Directions: In a blender add soy milk, frozen fruit and bananas. Blend until smooth. Serve chilled.
Oat Pecan Burgers Recipe Taken from Seventh-day Diet
These have a better flavor than most vegetarian burgers and a great texture.
4 cups water 1/2 cup Bragg's Liquid Aminos 1/3 cup canola oil 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts 1/4 cup nutritional yeast flakes 2 teaspoons garlic powder 1 tablespoon dried sweet basil 2 teaspoons onion powder 1 teaspoon Bakon seasoning 1 teaspoon ground coriander 1 teaspoon dried sage 4 cups rolled oats
Place all ingredients except rolled oats in a large pan, stir well, and bring to a slow boil over medium-low heat. Stir in rolled oats and immediately remove from heat. Cover and set aside to cool.
Preheat oven to 350. Form oat mixture into 3-inch patties and place on oiled baking sheets. Bake for 15 minutes on each side.
