(Week 4: (June 22-June 28- Open Week)
- This week's focus will depend on how we do on the first three weeks
- We'll decide as a group how GREEN we want to get for this week
- But still no chicken, pork, beef, lamb, goat, or pork
- Dre calls this week HARDCORE WEEK...get ur gameface on
- (Added 6/22) No eggs
June is flying by and we're almost at the finish line. Are you learning anything about food? About your body? About your willpower? Well, you've got one more "official" week to test yourself. This last week will be the biggest test for me because I am removing all of my "escapes". For the past 3 weeks, I've done really well except that when I didn't feel like cooking vegetarian, I grabbed fish or eggs. This week, none of that. Either I take the time to prepare food that I've been practicing and learning about all month, or I will not enjoy eating this week. What about you? It's all led up to this. The suggested schedule calls for you make this week the most focused of them all. What's your plan?
(Also, don't forget to post some recipes. We've been kinda lax on that throughout the month and I for one would love a few more options).
Here is a receipe for oatmeal patties.
ReplyDelete1/4 of a red pepper
1/4 of a green pepper
1/4 of a medium sized onion
1 small piece of garlic
1/2 cup water
2 cups of oatmeal
1/2 tsp Mrs. Dash
Sea salt to taste
Olive Oil
Blend the red and green peppers, onion and garlic with water in a blender. Add the two cups of oatmeal into the blender. Make sure the the oatmeal in blended very fine. If you need to, add more water into the blender. The mixture should be soft. Pour the mixter into a medium size bowl. Add sea salt and 1/2tsp Mrs. Dash or other seasonings to taste. Heat the frying pan and pour olive oil into the pan. Take a 1/4 tbsp and pour mixture into the oil. Depending on the size of the pan, you can fry at least 4 patties. Wait until brown and turn patties. Make sure they are cooked well. You can make a gravy to pour over the patties if you choose to do so or you can eat it as meat between two slices of bread.
